The Policies module has been built around four main user roles, these are:
- Policy Owner - Responsible for editing and publishing the policy. These users will also manage readership and view reports.
- Policy Reviewer - Responsible for providing feedback on specific versions of the Policy Document.
- Other Users - Responsible for reading the Policy when requested to do so.
- Admin - Responsible for high level actions such as cancelling requests for Review.
The Policy Owner and Policy Reviewer roles have been built into Arctick and are linked to specific notifications, therefore both of these roles should be used for the Policies module. However, all other functionality within this module can be configured to either grant additional or remove access for the specific security roles depending on your requirements.
Create Policy
To create a policy, click on the Create Policy option from the main menu.
This will open the page shown below:
From here you can give your Policy a title and add a description; you can also give your Policy a category and sub-category and assign it to a classification. Once you have added the policy details you must upload a file for the first draft of the policy; this file can be in any format from a detailed Word document to a simple image file outlining a structure for the policy document.
Before creating the Policy record you have the option to add a number of links to other records on Arctick; for example, you may want to link the Policy to its related controls and the user responsible for the policy. To add a link click on the Record Search bar and begin to type in the name of the record that you wish to link to; this will generate a list of options relevant to your search criteria. Once you have found the required record simply click on the name and it will be added to the list of Links below the search bar. If a Link has been added by mistake it can be deleted by clicking the 
button next to the appropriate record.
At the bottom of the page there are three options:
- Cancel - Closes the create page and returns you to the previous page.
- Create & New - Creates the policy record and opens a new Create Policy page.
- Create - Creates the policy record and takes you to view the page.
